Self Defense Quest Karate Self Defense programs offer a person the chance to learn basic self defense techniques or to progress into more advanced moves. Statistics show that 1 in 5 people will be involved in a violent attack such as a carjacking, mugging, assault, rape or domestic violence. This class will teach you the simple rules of awareness and safety that will greatly reduce this risk. The good news is that in a recent study [Black Belt , June 2004] women who took part in a self defense course or a martial arts course successfully defended themselves 75% of the time. Most men feel as though they can defend themselves fairly well, but consider that the majority of attacks on men are done by a group of 4 or more. How well do you feel you can defend against multiple attackers? The self defense class will teach you how to escape from different situations, such as multiple attackers or from armed persons. This class is essential for everyone. Most attackers choose their victims by how they look. If you look confident you may already have stopped an attack. Quest Karate's Self Defense course will help you gain that confidence. Quest Karate also offers special safety and awareness programs for youths. Tom Kately has taught several Girl Scout troops and High School groups in the area. |
